Each year I open the series thanking my HHA mothers, daughters and men, who have supported me and I welcome the new girls/women to our circle. It is an evening of sharing my story and
the mission of why the journey of Heels and Higher Achievement continues!
On Sunday evenings, we dedicate the night to speaking about financial illnesses/wellness, as it relates to our physical wellness. This year's Wellness series was dedicated to my best friend for life and "sista" since 5 years old, my angel now... Ms. Chaunta Richardson. The topic of women and heart disease was the focal point of Marlene Taylor, PA-C. The topic of spiritual wellness, thru prayer, was discussed by Minister Rosa Mugerson of Sisters of Salvation (SOS).
On Sunday evenings, we dedicate the night to speaking about financial illnesses/wellness, as it relates to our physical wellness. Tonight we met the dynamic "sister duo" and business owners of Fleur De Lis Beauty & Esthetics, a Medical Spa in Brooklyn. The topic was how to love the skin your in. It was a pleasure speaking with Wendy Jules RN, BSN and Carla Nelson RN, LE, about
"celebrating me time"!
On Friday evenings, we dedicate the night to speaking about financial wellness, as it relates to concepts and strategies on building wealth. The featured speakers, Janay Malloy, a real estate broker from New York and Mona McKenzie, a commercial real estate broker from Maryland. The topics focused on understanding how life insurance is the foundation of wealth building which can lead to real estate (private and commercial) investing, to help create your own
family legacy.
On Friday evening, our PART 2 series was dedicated to speaking about financial wellness, as it relates to college savings and debt. I love this series because we discussed "How do we pay for college: OPM (Other People's Money) vs MRF (My Retirement Fund)?" I had the expert speakers, Raquel Maysonet-Sigler of Advantage U. Educational Consulting Services, helping students and parents thru the college process; Brenda Kramer, a student loan consultant and "guru" on how to pay back or reduce your college debt. It was a great night of speaking the truth about higher education and the importance of creating a plan that is feasible for you.
The 1ST EVER VIRTUAL Men's series was a most exciting night because 3 powerful entrepreneurs and leaders in financial services, spoke about the importance of creating generational wealth. The featured speakers: Yoan Reimers, a motivational Senior Marketing Director with his own financial services offices in NYC changing the community at-large; Curtis J (Williams) an inspiring young entrepreneur from Atlanta, Georgia, who went from Music Executive, to Financial Professional; and finally, Jonathan Wright, a compassionate Financial Advisor & Director of Expansion with offices in the DMV. These men are not just my colleagues, but dear friends and I so appreciated the open and honest truth about
'men and money'.
The PART 2 of the series was just as exciting as the 1st night because 3 powerful speakers spoke on "faith and finance". The 1st featured speaker, known as the Prof Crypto, Travis Bazile, spoke on building wealth thru learning about cryptocurrency.. My other 2 speakers, were friends, as well as, Pastors, Pastor Kevin Osbourne of Refuge Church of God and Pastor NaRon Tillman from Walk in Victory Sunday Service. It was such an interesting conversation as they tied "faith with finances".
